At ACFYS, we are committed to making a positive impact on the world, and that includes using a portion of our proceeds to support local initiatives and GoFundMe campaigns. We believe that big nonprofits can sometimes be inefficient, and it's hard to know how much of your donation is actually making a difference. That's why we choose to support causes that we can directly see the impact of.
We believe in focusing our efforts on a few key areas where we can make a significant impact. Currently, we donate to help preserve the ocean, improve the well-being of dogs, and help individuals in the local community who are experiencing various hardships through contributions to their GoFundMe campaigns. We recognize that there are many important issues out there, but we cannot spread ourselves too thin. By focusing on these areas, we can have a more significant impact and ensure that our contributions are making a tangible difference.
A Coalition for your Sea, A Cool Fuzzy Yarmulke Store, Alimony Controls Father's Yearly Savings? It can stand for whatever you want it to stand for...
...but the real answer is A Cult for your Son. The name alludes to our efforts to save the world for the next generation. This company is for everyone, NOT just your son, but since I have a son, I named it that way.
The name also comes from the idea that anything outside of the ordinary is considered divisive and weird in our times. ACFYS is a “cult” of people who want to reclaim their individuality and not follow the seasons, influencers, and our increasingly digital life. Those that want a house that doesn’t look like it’s sponsored by Target or Home Goods. Those that want to celebrate their individuality and genuine taste. What do you like because you just like it? This “cult” is unapologetic. We create what we create. Love us or hate us, we won’t change for you, I can promise you that.
At ACFYS, we take great care in sourcing our materials.
Whenever possible, we source our materials locally in South Florida to support
the community and inject the essence of our surroundings into our products. Our
aim is to use renewable materials and minimize harm to the environment. We also
conduct extensive research to ensure that the alternatives we use are truly
beneficial and not just a superficial improvement.
With that being said, we acknowledge that there is no
perfect way to source materials and that every decision comes with trade-offs.
However, we strive to do the best we can by following our rules of thumb and
being mindful of our sourcing, packaging, and design decisions. Ultimately, our
goal is to minimize our impact on the environment and support the local
community as much as possible while creating high-quality and meaningful
products for our customers.
ACFYS saves the world for the next generation. So…our packaging looks a little different. We reuse cardboard to make custom boxes, collect pine needles and newspaper for packing material, and reuse old papers and and notebooks for our printed matter. It might not be a lot, but it’s something. It’s just one aspect of our effort to leave the world a better place.
HOW TO SOURCE PACKING MATERIALS:
-Connect with your local big box stores, department stores, and other retailers to get cardboard and packing materials. Their inventory comes sometimes nightly by the pallet full. Boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper, poly bags, you name it. It all gets thrown away. Ask and you shall receive.
- Look to nature. Think outside the box and figure out what can be used. SUSTAINABLY.
-Anywhere who sells newspapers get rid of what hasn’t been sold for that date. Don’t be shy, just ask. The worst that can happen is they say no.
-Tape you are kind of screwed on. Go buy some ☺️
Our packaging is just one aspect of how we aim to leave the world a better place. Once the site is live you will be able to read about all the different ways.
We understand that shipping costs can be a concern for
our customers, and we want to be transparent about why some shipping costs may
be higher than expected. Some of our products are heavy and/or have large
dimensions, which causes the shipping cost to go up dramatically. We do our
best to find the best rates for each unique order to keep costs as low as
possible. However, we prioritize quality materials and ethical production
processes over cheap shipping, so we ask for your understanding in this matter.
Thank you for supporting our mission to create unique and sustainable products.
Additionally, we'd like to note that for orders over $75,
we offer free shipping with some exclusions.
